Lobbyist began career at family station

Scarpelli Communications and broadcasting may be in the genes for Brian Scarpelli. The Telecommunications Industry Association lobbyist grew up in western Michigan, where his parents own a small-town AM/FM radio station. The family business gave Scarpelli his first taste of the working world. "I did it all," he said. "I went on the air. I sold ads. I did production. I took out the garbage.
